• Queabeyan Bowling Club Details
    Hotels & Hospitality Architecture

The Queanbeyan Bowling Club was taken over by the Vikings Group in 2016 seeking a new vision for the club.

Their brief was to create a “Plub” – a pub/club that would marry the best aspects of each venture. The focus was on a mixed market including families, a casual pub offer and sports environment.

Our approach to this design was to ensure two worlds were created – a “family world” and a “club world”. Our vision allows the club to expand as required, or retract in quiet times.

The interior design scheme was derived from the place, with historical references to the existing building, embedded in the scheme. The honest bones of the building are celebrated and elevated to a contemporary quality.

The client is excited to have found an architect and interiors team who understood the vision from the outset and effectively managed the balance of the “Plub” atmosphere.
